General Information

Stellatris exists to make sexual health simpler and kinder. We aim to remove the anxiety of sharing your status with new partners, as well as provide a secure, private safety net. If an exposure happens, we handle the difficult notifications so you and your past partners (i.e., constellation) can take action without the stigma or the awkward conversations.

Not at all. Stellatris is for any sexually active adult (18 or older) who cares about sexual health. Whether you are in a committed monogamous relationship, dating casually, or practicing ethical non-monogamy (e.g., polyamory), our tools are designed to keep you and your specific circle safe.

A Self-Reported result is based on trusting what you or a partner manually enters to keep the constellation updated. A Lab-Verified result (coming soon!) will come directly from a medical provider for maximum accuracy. For now, we rely on our community of users to report honestly and have a shared responsibly to keep each other safe.

We are a mission-driven company, and we believe that improving one's sexual health should be affordable to everyone. That’s why we offer a free tier (Stardust) with all the core features and our standard paid tier (Nebula) is priced just high enough to cover the cost of running the service. We are proudly independent and we do not sell your data to advertisers. To keep the platform sustainable, we plan to introduce additional features for the premium tier (Protostar), and build partnerships with public health organizations who share our goal of stopping the spread of STIs. If and when we establish partnerships with public health organizations, all users will be notified and none of your data will be shared until you opt-in

To ensure the best possible experience, Stellatris is doing a targeted rollout. We are currently live exclusively in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area (DMV).

We know having the 'health talk' can be daunting. That’s why we provide a library of pre-written communication scripts in your account. You can copy and paste these casual, direct, or spicy scripts right into your dating apps or text messages to easily share your Stellatris Display Name and get your constellations linked up.

Once we've proven market viability in the DMV, sometime soon. If we haven't launched in your zip code just yet, you can join our waitlist. We will safely store your email and zip code so we can send you an email notification as soon as Stellatris touches down in your area.

Intimacy Constellations & Connections

Think of your Intimacy Constellation as your circle of trust. By linking, you and your partner agree to look out for each other's health proactively. It removes the burden of the "awkward conversation" if a risk is detected, the system handles the notification for you. This ensures your partners get the critical info they need to get tested and treated, and maintain a healthy, honest constellation.

Yes. To protect their privacy, we cannot send sensitive health alerts to an insecure email or text message. They need to create their own secure Stellatris account to view your results and receive alerts. Think of it as a digital handshake—both sides need to agree to keep the connection secure. The good news, the starter stardust tier is free.

Your self-reported health data is private by default. When you are ready to share, go to the "Connection Details" page for that specific partner. You have total control: you can choose to show them just your current status one time, or enable automatic sharing for total transparency moving forward.

If your partner has granted you access, their latest status (including their last test dates for the specific STI) will appear directly in your "Connection Details" view. We encourage checking this together as a way to build trust before being intimate.

Yes, instantly. You can revoke access at any time from the same "Connection Details" menu. Your self-reported health data belongs to you, and you decide who sees it and when.

Yes, you can disconnect at any time. However, for your safety and the safey of your constellation, we recommend keeping all links for at least 3 months after your last contact. Many STIs have an incubation period, and staying connected ensures you still get that vital alert if you or they test positive later. Note: If you do disconnect, your partner will receive a neutral notification that the connection has been dissolved, and data sharing will end immediately.

Safety Alerts & Notifications

You don't have to tell them, we do that for you. When you log a positive result in your dashboard, Stellatris automatically sends a private alert to your constellation. The alert simply says they have been exposed to an STI risk and should get tested. It does not reveal your name or identity. This allows your partners to protect their health while protecting your privacy.

We strip your personal details from these types of alerts. However, in smaller circles of trust, simple deduction might occur. For example, if a user has only been with one partner recently, they may infer the source of the alert. But remember: sending that alert is an act of courage and care. By notifying them, you are protecting their health and the health of everyone they are connected to. That is the ethical, mature choice, and it’s something to be proud of.

We take the integrity of our platform very seriously. While self-reporting relies on the honor system, we monitor for suspicious activity and abuse patterns. Any user found weaponizing the alert system to harass others will be permanently banned. We are also working on a 'Lab-Verified' badge to bring even higher trust to the system. If you suspect someone is abusing the system, please contact us via the methods listed on our contact page for us to investigate.

Delta Notifications are smart alerts designed to keep your network safe without causing unnecessary panic. If you log a positive test result, Stellatris notifies your direct connections. If you log another positive result for that exact same infection shortly after, a Delta Notification ensures that only new connections you have made since your previous test are alerted. Your existing connections already received the initial alert, so the system prevents sending them duplicate notifications for the same event.

A Cooldown Window is the specific period of time following a positive test during which Delta Notifications are active. During this timeframe, repeat positive logs for the exact same infection are filtered so they only alert newly added partners. Once the Cooldown Window officially expires, the system resets. After a reset, any new positive test for that infection will notify all of your direct connections again.

We built this system to prevent notification fatigue and align with medical reality. Treatment and physical clearance take time. For example, some infections take months to show as cleared on a laboratory test, even if you are actively receiving successful treatment. If we alerted your entire network every single time you went in for a routine follow up test, it would cause unnecessary anxiety and make the alerts feel less urgent over time. By utilizing Delta Notifications and Cooldown Windows, Stellatris ensures that when an alert goes out, it is meaningful and requires attention.

The length of the window depends entirely on the specific infection you report. Stellatris aligns its Cooldown Windows with the official treatment and follow up testing guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. For instance, some infections have a short window of a few weeks, while others require a window of six months or more to accurately measure treatment success. If official clinical guidelines do not specify a definitive timeline for a particular infection, Stellatris applies a standard thirty day safety buffer.

Absolutely not. Cooldown Windows are strictly tied to the specific infection you reported. If you are currently in a Cooldown Window for one condition but you log a new positive result for a completely different infection, Stellatris will immediately notify all of your direct connections about the newly reported infection.

For conditions that require extended treatment or lifelong management, you can track them under 'Managed Long-Term Infections' in your Health Settings. This allows you to update your constellation accurately over time rather than triggering temporary cooldown windows. For instance, if you are managing HIV and log an 'Undetectable' status, your partners will see an educational note explaining U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable) to help dismantle stigma.

While standard alerts notify your direct connections, Second-Degree Exposure Alerts expand your safety net to partners of partners. If you are notified of a 1st-Degree exposure, this feature allows your extended constellation to receive an anonymous 2nd-Degree alert. This extended chain contains no identifiable information about you, ensuring broader network safety while protecting your privacy. (Note: Access to 2nd-Degree alerts requires the Protostar subscription tier).

To ensure consent and transparency, you must explicitly opt-in. You can do this by enabling 'Partner-of-Partner Alert Sharing' in your Sharing & Health Settings. We highly recommend enabling this feature to help protect your intimacy constellation and the intimacy constellations of your partners.

Privacy & Data

Your privacy is our highest priority. While we don't yet host any data requiring HIPAA compliance, we still protect your data to the same standards.

Absolutely. We believe you should have total control over your digital footprint. If you delete your account, we immediately delete all constellation link data, self-reported test results, and other personally identifiable information (PII) from our database. For audit and legal purposes, we retain the fact that you had an account in our system, the fact that you agreed to our terms, and a cryptographic hash of your email. A cryptographic hash is like a digital fingerprint; it allows us to recognize that an account existed for legal records without actually storing your readable email address in our system.

To protect your privacy and comply with strict state regulations like the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act (MODPA). MODPA establishes strong protections for personal data by setting standards for how information is collected, processed, and shared. It requires organizations to limit data collection to what is reasonably necessary and proportionate to the service provided. By checking the consent box, you are explicitly allowing us to store your email and zip code solely for the purpose of notifying you about future platform launches and updates.
